About James
James is a freelance trumpeter based in West Yorkshire. He has a versatile performance background, specialising in musical theatre pit bands and big band music.
Following his postgraduate studies in music performance at the University of Huddersfield, James has gone on to play for a wide range of ensembles including being appointed as lead trumpeter for Deadbeat Brass and Manhattan Sound Big Band. James is also a freelance contractor for Wedding Bands for Hire and Bugler for Hire.
In terms of James’ true musical passion, Musical Theatre, this year he has played the trumpet in productions of Legally Blonde, Young Frankenstein, White Christmas, Little Shop of Horrors, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Annie and the world premier of The Village Hall.
James is also accustomed to depping for ensembles of all varieties. He has recently accompanied Renegade Brass, Bratwurst Brass, The Boyce Orchestra, The Yorkshire Imperial Band, BwD Big Band, Calderdale Big Band, Nyte-Beat and The Northern Swing Orchestra.
